ADVANCE SUPPORT: How do I fix breaks in my print using the Alignment Tool?

The Alignment Tool can be used to adjust columns relative to each other to eliminate breaks in the print.

When using the Alignment tool, it is important to remember a few things:

  1. A NEGATIVE value will move the column to the left (the Exit side of the printer)
  2. A POSITIVE value will move the column to the right (the entrance side of the printer)
  3. When adjusting the alignment, begin at the lowest column number you can (0, 1, 2, etc.) and work your way to the higher-number columns in order (10, 11, 12, 13)

From the Callisto Operator Panel, access the Alignment tool: Support Tools > Maintenance > Scaling and Alignment

Adjusting a lower column value will throw off any adjustments made to columns of higher values. For example, if you have adjusted all the columns to column 10, but decide to go back to edit column 4, YOU WILL HAVE TO ADJUST EVERY COLUMN FROM 4-10 ONCE AGAIN.

When working on the alignments, start with the lower column numbers and work your way up to the higher column numbers in order.

When making adjustments, it is advisable to work on 1 column at a time. It is possible to work on two columns simultaneously, but the most accurate adjustments will be made to one column at a time. It is NOT advisable to try to adjust 3 or more columns at once

TIP: It is recommended to keep track of the values of acceptable column adjustments.

If an adjustment has been made to a lower value (column 4 after working all the way to column 10), it is possible to try to recover the column adjustments. You will need to reset all values to 0, then apply them. After this, you can re-input the former acceptable values, and the changes should reflect what was seen before.

This method can be used as a general troubleshooting step in case any issues are encountered during the alignment setup
