How do I optimize the Mark/Gap Sensor on the Callisto?
Running the Sensor Optimize function can improve label registration and reduce skipping.
When Should I Optimize the Sensor?
If you are experiencing any of the following issues, optimizing the sensor may help:
- Labels are skipping during printing
- Print registration is inconsistent
- The printer is having difficulty detecting gaps or black marks
How to Optimize the Sensor
- On the Callisto touchscreen, navigate to:
Settings → Device Settings → Sensors → Mark/Gap Sensor - Remove all media from the printer before starting the optimization process.
- Select Optimize on the right side of the screen.
- Choose the media type:
- Gap (die-cut labels with gaps)
- Black Mark media
- If using Gap media:
- Peel the first label from the liner.
- Load only the backing material into the printer when prompted.
- If using Black Mark media:
- Follow the on-screen prompts. No label removal is required.
- Allow the printer to complete the optimization process.
