How do you remove and replace the toner on the Sirius?

Instructions and a video on how to remove and replace a Sirius toner (print cartridge).

The Sirius toner (called a print cartridge on the printer's display) is a consumable and will need to be replaced periodically. When a toner is close to empty, the printer displays "[COLOR] Print Cartridge Near End of Life" and the ATTENTION lamp blinks. Replace the toner when the display reads "Install New [COLOR] Print Cartridge." This video covers the steps for removing a used toner and installing a new one.

Removing the Sirius Toner

  1. Grasp the top cover open lever and open the top cover.

  2. Find the toner you need to replace. Each slot has a label showing the toner's text and color.

  3. Pull the toner straight up and out of the printer.

  4. Put the used toner in a plastic bag so the toner doesn't scatter.

Installing the New Sirius Toner

  1. Take the new toner out of its packaging bag and shake it vertically and horizontally to loosen the toner.

  2. Find the slot with the label that matches the toner's text and color.

  3. Push the toner down firmly and levelly as far as it will go.

  4. Close the top cover by pressing on the top of the cover until it clicks closed.

Caution: Don't hold the LED head or the cover support while you close the top cover, because you could pinch your fingers.

Tips:

  • If the "Print Cartridge Life" message stays on after you replace the toner, the toner may not be seated correctly. Open the top cover and reseat the toner in again.

  • Sirius5 only: The white toner only fits the Sirius5. Make sure it goes in the position that matches the Spot Color setting in the printer driver. Otherwise, the printer reports error 7380.

  • To check how much toner is left, press the scroll button and go to [Configuration] > [Supplies Life].

  • Wipe up spilled toner with a damp cloth. Never use a vacuum cleaner, because the toner can ignite.

  • To recycle the used toner, pack it in the box and bag from the new toner.
