What is the procedure for the Ink-Short Board ByPass?

In extreme climates the Callisto Ink-Short Board can give false alerts. This procedure documents the disconnection of the ink-short board. No side effects are known to occur after board disconnection

1.Power OFF printer and remove exit side panel

2.Locate 4 ribbon cables connected to upper board

3.Disconnect the ribbon cable closest to the front of the printer

4.Fold over cable end and cover metal contacts with tape.  Do not crimp.

5.Replace panel and power ON printer

 

You are looking into the printer EXIT with the FRONT of the printer facing RIGHT.

There are 4 ribbon cables in a group.  Remove the one closest to the printer front.

Use electrical or other similar tape to secure the cable end.
