Why am I getting an “Out of Ink” error when my cartridges are full?

If the printer reports an out-of-ink error even though cartridges are full, reseating the cartridges one at a time can reset the printer’s detection.

In some cases, the printer may display an “Out of Ink” alert even when all installed cartridges are full. When this occurs, printing will be disabled until the cartridges are properly recognized.

To resolve the issue, reseat the cartridges one at a time:

  1. Remove all cartridges from the printer.

  2. Close the cartridge door and wait for the printer to acknowledge that the door is closed before continuing.

  3. Open the door and install one cartridge, then close the door.

  4. Wait for the printer to acknowledge the door is closed and recognize the cartridge.

  5. Open the door again, install the next cartridge, and close the door.

  6. Wait again for the printer to acknowledge the door status.

  7. Repeat this process until all cartridges have been reinstalled.

This step-by-step process allows the printer to properly detect each cartridge individually and typically clears the false Out of Ink alert.

If the issue persists after reseating the cartridges, contact technical support for further assistance.
